Need a good scope for a MKII
Got a MarkII Ruger MK10 for christmas, now I need a good scope along with the bases and rings , what do you'll recommend? I think I want to go with a cross-hair recticle instead of a red-dot but not sure. Do they make a good red-dot that is as accurate as cross-hairs?

RE: Need a good scope for a MKII
Strut, I have a Ruger Mk II slabside and I put a Tasco Pro Point red dot on it. I've had the Tasco for several years. I previously had it on a Ruger 22/45. Anyway, I mounted it on the slabside with a Jack Weigand aluminum Weaver style base and used Weigand lightweight aluminum rings. Makes a really slick looking setup. Here is his website if you're interested www.jackweigand.com/. My gun came drilled and tapped from the factory, if your's isn't, it would have to be to use this base. But that's no problem for a good gunsmith and it doesn't cost much either. I really like my red dot on my Mk II. It works great for reasonable distances but if you are going to make longer shots, then a scope might be best. Good luck with your new pistol, I think you're gonna like it!
