I agree with some of the others, my wife says to many and i say not enough. I never intended to by more than one. I bought a rifle then a shotgun then a pistol then bought my son a rifle and shotgun then i needed a safe to store them in. Next i realized the safe was to big and had to much free space so i bought another gun then started reloading then bought another gun...........well i think you get the ideal......it never ends!

You know you have a lot of guns when you try to list them in your head and forget some.

I have a few guns...let's just say i have more than 3 and less than 20.

Actually, the number of guns I have has declined a lot in the past couple years as I trade quantity for quality. I used to have a half dozen imported rifles (Mosin's, SKS', SVT-40, etc...), but my shooting preferences have changed from blasting hundreds of cheap bullets all over the target as fast as I could pull the trigger, to trying to put five shots into the same hole. I've also got a sweet spot for muzzleloading now too. I used to go to the range with a case of 7.62x39 Soviet ammo and blow through the whole thing. Now I might shoot 20-40 rounds in an afternoon at the range...unless I take my Glock, then I shoot probably 100 rounds through it.

It's all a matter of preference I think. I will say one thing though, the list of guns I WANT to have is much longer than the list of guns I currently own.

Longuns...afew. Some will never ever get shot again but were from my dad so will stay where they are, some will be used for trading fodder or cash if things ever get tight, guns are good commodoties. A couple still get shot once in awhile and one goes hunting with me every year.

Pistols..Afew. all get shot regularly.

Contenders....3.... Barrels for the Contender? Well of late even I'm beginning to think i have to many but I still have a few more i want to try before I decide which ones i want to keep and beside barrels aren't really guns so they don't count do they?

Slingshots and bows aren't rifles. Also, some B-B guns are smoothbores, thus they are "micro-gauge shotguns!
