Default Tikka 300 wsm

I was thinking about getting this gun and was wondering how many of you own or have shot it? I' m interested in the .300 wsm is there any other brands that I should consider. I want something that is cheap and will perform well. Thanks for the input.

Well in that case, get the rifle, but forget about the 300 wsm. Ammo is expensive compared to the more normal calibers like .270, .30-06, and 300 Win Mag. Rifle is great for the money, but I wouldn' t call it cheap either.

If you' re wanting a good, inexpensive rig, check out the Howa 1500 in any of the calibers I mentioned above. You can get it and a good scope for about the cost of the Tikka alone. But don' t get me wrong, I love the Tikka.

The tikka is a great gun but the howa is a good gun that is cheaper and there are not many 300wsm loads available yet.

Otis-I have not bought a howa in some time so I can' t tell you where to locate one right now.I do know that the howas and vanguards were priced lower than the tikkas the last time that I checked.I personally would choose the 25-06 over the 260 due to it' s flatter trajectory and much better supply of factory loads if you don' t reload.
