Default AR 15 varmint rifle

------------------------------------------------------------------------
After getting my .308 bolt rifle, I now have to decide which rifle to buy next. (There is always another one )

My latest " want" is an AR15 varmint rifle in .223, I have shot one, liked it a lot, and besides, they look cool

How many of you guys own one, and what do you like/dislike??
Anybody regret it?

Now I' m not a varmint hunter, but I don' t think your average off-the-shelf AR-15 is going to be capable of the kind of tight groups you' ll need. You' ll probably end up having to spend a small fortune to get a varmint-grade AR.

What are you hoping to go after, and from what distances?

i have a 22" krieger barreled AR with a rock river arms 2 stage NM trigger. it is sweet. 5 shot groups at 100yds are consistantly less then .5" using 55 gr nosler ballistic tips. last year i went prairie dog hunting and was popping them out at 275-300 yds with ease. this next month, i' m going to try some coyote hunting

Now that' s what I' m talking about! Obviously Aught six hasn' t fired one of these beauties A semi-auto that will shoot 1/2" at 100 yards. Sounds good to me.

Nope, I haven' t shot any AR' s except for a few standard Bushmasters and Olympic Arms models. I would' ve never imagined finding an AR varminter for $840!
