Picked up a new (to me) toy from a coworker this morning. It's a savage Mk2 .22LR and it has a Nikon Prostaff 3-9X40 on it. He wanted $200 for the rifle, scope and two mags. Figured that was an OK deal so I got it. I shot 6 shots off hand off the porch this moring at 50 yards and it shot very well in my opinion. Will try to shoot it off a rest next week and see what it will really do.

Dang good deal! The Mark II's have a good reputation, so I can't say they're under-rated, but they dang sure deserve all of the good praise they get.

I picked one up in LH at my local gun shop a couple years ago without a scope for $110. Darn thing can shoot. That's like my 6th .22 !
