Necroposting - symptom of mobile format?
#1
A lot of us have taken note of the high occurrence of necroposting of late. While some of this is most certainly trolling and intentional search for certain topics, I did notice tonight on my phone, in the mobile friendly format of HNI, if I scroll past the bottom of a thread, a "related thread" is displayed which might be 10yrs old or more.
The bad part - I noticed it's a smooth scroll, and once you scroll past the "related thread" link bar, it dumps you into the top result. If you don't notice the change, then respond to a certain post within the related thread, clicking reply will reply to the related thread, not the thread in which you started.
In other words, a guy can scroll into a different thread if they aren't careful, and not notice, then respond to a post there without realizing it's a different thread which might be VERY old. The mobile device format is overall great, but that particular function is crappy if you're like me and against necroposting.
