Default Best Value O/U 20ga shotgun?

I read an article some years ago about the best shotgun value out there, I lost the article but just remember that there are some bargains/steals to be had out there? I think perhaps from European manufacturers?

I was assuming something near $1,000, but open to any quality 20ga.

Thanks!

Haven't had a chance to shoot it, yet, but my father-in-law love his Legacy Sports Pointer 20ga.

I've owned 2 Browning Citori 20GA shotguns in my life and they've both been special field guns. I had a chance to buy a 1970's 101 in 20GA and passed because it cost an extra $75-100. I regret not buying that shotgun because it pointed so well. Neither gun is European but they sure are nice guns.

Talking

About any used 20ga OU can be had for that money except the extra special ones. New ones are the Turkish made ones.

The Turkish guns are in some cases much better than they used to be, so I would not discriminate against them the way it was necessary to ten years ago. Just read a lot of reviews on whatever model you're looking at.
In some cases, like with the Stoeger Condor, you really want to hold the gun and test the break-action for stiffness---quality control is inconsistent with some models, in this regard, but when you find a good one, it's pleasant to point and the action operates easily.

+1 Stoeger

Might want to consider the 12 gauge/20 gauge barrel combo set...........................

I have a Condor Supreme that has +/- 10,000 rounds thought it - it's my "beater" !

Ted Williams O/U from Sears were actually a Winchester 101. I used one during a dove hunting season many years ago. VERY nice handling O/U. I had a Citori during the same time but it was a long tube 12 gauge. I liked the Ted Williams/Winchester 101 far better.

I bought a EAA MP310A Sporting Clays in 20ga 2yrs ago and love it. I have taken it to Canada for 2 years and killed geese with it. I shoot doves and pheasants with it. I bought after market choke tubes from Tro-Lok choke tubes and I took it turkey hunting last year, didn't get to use it though. Rock solid, ported barrels, selective trigger. Kinda stiff opening though. Other than that, I would buy another if I needed one. 100% recommended!!!!
