Default Ruger American 270!!

I bought a couple of tickets for a benefit at our local fire dept and I won a ruger american 270. Don't know much about these rifles. I only got 10 bucks in it so gotta be some good. Anybody know anything about these?

Very good rifle for the money from a very reputable company that makes quality firearms, especially for $10, LOL! Put a good scope on it and go hunting!

RAR are getting very good reviews. By next year it probably wont have an entry level price.

I traded for one because I was worried about using my 300 after neck surgery at the end of Sept. Got it thinking of just sell it off next year, but after trying just one ammo Hornady American 130 grain I might just have to keep it. Began with groups hovering around 3/4"then owned up at about 1.5", but I attribute that to the tremor in my arms and pain in my neck getting server as i kept shooting.

My buddy's son has one in 270, not much on the eyes but shoots great. Seems like the RAR outshoots the 77s.

My best bud has only been hunting for 4yrs and lastyear he asked me what to get his now 13yr old son who had outgrown his Wby Vanguard youth 243? I steered him to the 7-08 American with a Redfield Revo on it and it's been a GREAT rifle! In fact I might very well get one myself, I'm awfully partial to the American All Weather Compact in 7-08. For the money you just AINT gonna beat this platform from Ruger!

Not sure I agree with that, the RAR has been out for a couple of years now and if anything they are cheaper now than the first run was! The All Weather option only adds $50 or so as well and the offering is quite broad and numerous. They are KICKING THE CRAP out of the sorry offerings in similar price ranges by Rem, Savage, TC etc... Ruger knows marketing, they are masters of it. A few of them still in charge learned from Big Bill himself and paid attention to him before he left us. They know if they price it north of $500 then they are in a field that is much tougher to compete with. But as of now the RAR is head and shoulders above ANYTHING ELSE in the sub $500 range!

Just got a ruger american in 308 haven't shot it yet. Actually I won one in 270 cost me $20 didn't want a another 270 so trade for a 308. Have one of the rainforest in 22 magnum. One of the best ringside rifles I have ever seen for accuracy.
