Default Remington model 710

I was looking at this gun and thought it might be a good buy with scope and all already mounted. Since i dont have all the time in the world to sight find a scope I like, mount it and sight it in. I was just wanting to know everyone's opinion on this gun. Anyone have one? I was thinking about getting a 30-06 and found this one. Here is a link to it. http://www.remington.com/2001/fi_710.htm
Thanks,

BrandonT

I have fired one and it did shoot okay but the action is very rough and the scope that comes with them is of very low quality.I could not personally use this rifle due to the notchy feeling when cycling the bolt.

i handled one and dont like it from that expirience...the bolt was horrible!..and the scope is maybe 30 bux or sumthin...its really not hard to goto a gunshop...pick a gun...and scope mounts and bases...if you buy it all from the same shop sum1 there will mount it and bore site it...and there ya go...i did here the 710 shoots ok...and would be ok for a beginner but i feel a beginner should have quality...so you dont gota spend the money twice yano....its all upto you...you are goin to get a bunch of answers on this...unless ppl gave up....

It's junk, do not buy one. Buy a savage, it's a much higher quality rifle and you can get a package with a scope, however none of the scopes with any package gun are worth much.

The Remington 710 is real garbage. For not to much more you can get a much higher quality rifle. The 710's bolt is rough as a cob. The barrel is pressed in. The stock is very poor quality. The scope that comes with it is a very cheap one.You would be much better off getting a Savage, Rem 700, Ruger m-77 ,Win m-70,just to name a few. Ruger Redhawk
