Default Marlin 336 .35 Rem

Thinking of purchasing a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. What are your experiences w/ the Marlin 336 & what about the .35 Rem caliber itself? I've got a Win Mod 94 30-30 that I love! I'm just looking for another lever action, thick timber/brush gun for whitetails & black bear. Thinking .35 Rem b/c I don't own one...

I have 4 Marlin 336's...none in 35 Rem (2x 30-30, 32 Spec, 44 Rem Mag) and they are all great rifles...the micro groove barrel makes them very accurate. My neighbor has a .336 in 35 Rem and it's his primary deer gun and probably takes 3-5 deer a year wth it and he loves it. Great gun, great caliber...can't go wrong with the gun or caliber for a brush gun!

Proud owner of a Marlin 336C in .35 rem.

Perfect for the deer hunter who also has the opportunity to hunt black bears as well.

Only concern is the availability of factory ammo on store shelves - at less that has been my experience out west - I brought it when I lived in NJ and hunted NY & Penncy.

The Marlin 336 is a good reliable rifle. And the 35 Rem is an excellent close range (out to 150 yds) cartridge for deer black bear.

I have one. Wouldn't part with it. Great rifle. .35 really puts the hurt on deer.

If you love your Winchester you'll love your Marlin even more, I know I do. I have the 336 in 35Rem. Ammo isn't as plentiful as it once was and when you find it expect to pay about $30 + a box.
I personally don't see where it kills any better than the 30-30 or vice-versa.

I own a Marlin 1894c and for leverguns I cannot think of a better make. Marlin leverguns have sling studs, drilled and tapped, side eject, and they shoot great.

35 Remington is great for deer bear and moose. Jump on it.

Had two Marlins I hunted with. A 45/70 and .35. Both guns were better made than a Winchester and shot well. I am getting old and auctioned them with other guns I had, but had no complaints with them.
