Default 30-06 Identification help???

Does anybody know who makes this rifle and any other info about it?

it has a "R" stamped on the right side of the trigger guard, which made me belive it was a remington. besides that just a serial # I cant find anything with the strap attaching to the barrel like this one.

is it a "P" or an "R" by the trigger guard.? looks more like a Springfield sporterized 1903

Definitely a sporterized Springfield '03. It looks like a German Ajack scope and claw mounts. It looks very well done. I'm going to guess it was done prior to WWII.

It's definitely a sporterized Springfield 1903 and I doubt that it's worth that much since it's nothing like the original rifle before it was customized with another stock, etc.

Unless it was worked on and signed by a famous gunsmith, or owned by a famous hunter, it's value would be strictly that of a good used hunting rifle.

I agree ... sported '03. It does look like a nice job sportrizing job.

A caution .... if you have not already (unless you know how to) have the head space checked by a qualified gunsmith.

As for value? If it is safe to use, unless there is something very special about the scope, I would guess $450 +/- ... as a good grade hunting rifle.
