Using a Choke for Sporting Clays

I recently bought a Browning BPS 12 gauge 28" shotgun. It came with two chokes and I noticed that one choke has a setting for skeet.
I'm planning on shooting sporting clays and initially thought that I could just bring the gun, but now I'm wondering if the choke would help. I'm using 2 3/4 target shells.
Should I use a choke for shooting sporting clays with my bps or does it make that much of a difference?
Thanks,

Here - take some time and read this - Shotgun Chokes are critical - Match them for what you shoot.

It seems like I almost always shoot either improved cyl. or light modified. unless of course the birds are way out there then I will tighten up chokes but not very often.
For your first few times you will be better served keeping your eye on the birds and not worry about choke changing. Imp. Cyl will work on 90% of the birds presented unless it is a very tough course.
never shoot the gun without a choke installed!

Maybe after three of us telling him "DO NOT SHOOT IT WITHOUT A CHOKE INSTALLED" he will get the message!!! You will ruin the threads in the barrel if you shoot without a choke screwed into the barrel to protect the threads! The various chokes constrict the shot pattern from very tight (full) to fairly open (improved) depending on what you're shooting at and the distance involved.

what ever you do. do not shoot the gun without a choke installed. I had to do that.
It sounds kinda like you already shot it without the choke...
I hope not but if you did try to install the choke SLOWLY backing it off if it becomes tight before it bottoms out. use oil, if the choke does not bottom out do not shoot it with the choke "as far as it will go" this will make the problem worse. You may end up blowing the choke out the end causing damage to who knows what and wrecking the barrel.
You may have to send the barrel in to clean up the threads. Briley does a good job.
I found a spare fixed modified barrel for my BPS 20 ga. on ebay for like 60 bucks.
