Default Inexpensive side x side 20 ga.

We're looking for an inexpensive (but nice) side by side 20 gauge for my father. Any suggestions?

What Sheridan said. For the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one.

For a sturdy 20 ga. SXS, I take in a few gun shows and look for a Savage/Stevens. One of the model 311's. They are a true workhorse. Shot the same one in 20 ga. for 30 years, now my son is shooting it. Sometimes tempted to trade him my Beretta for it. Really miss the double trigger also.

IMO there are no "inexpensive" side by sides any more. Either shell out for a good one or decide a pump 870 looks just fine!

I'd say go to the used auctions (Gunbroker etc) and look for used late models of SKB or Browning side by side....even those are not cheap but at least you get something when you plunk down your hard earned cash!
