They make a BLR in 450 Marlin.
I have a 1895M w/22 in barrel in 450 marlin and all I' ve shot it at is a whitetail doe and a whitetail buck.I didn' t conect on either one so I can' t tell you how it worked yet.

I have to agree and then disagree with Biggunz.45-70.
First, ( agree ) after hunting with the 45-70 cal. I find that is more than suitable for deer or any other big game you want to hunt. It is very accurate for hunting out to 150 yds, and I would feel comfortable shooting out to 200 yds because I shoot it all the time. One thing that people do not understand. When you kill a deer with this round you can almost eat up to the hole. It does very little meat damage. Less meat damage than the faster .270' s or ought sixes.
Second (disagree) All deer I have killed with the 45-70 have dropped in their tracks with the exception of one that ran all of 12 yds. Their is not much tracking involved when you shoot a deer with that round. Of course, you still have to hit em in the vitals. If you don' t, well......

For me the best lever ction whitetail rig is my old Savage 99 in 300 savage with a Redfield receiver sight. The 99 can also be had in 308, 284, 358 Win. Might as well throw in the 250 savage as well. I would be happy with any and all of them. They offer netter balistics and downrange performance because they can use pointed bullets. Add the fact that the 99 is a VERY slick and fast action that can be cycled from the sholder without loosing the sight picture. A great old gun!
