OK, I am officially confused now.
Are you talking about the difference in the 77 and 77 Mk II? For wood stocks? Anything ha got to be an improvement over the old one. I had a 77 in 7mm Rem Mag and it wasn' t very pleasant to shoot. One of the biggest improvements Ruger could make is put an actual recoil pad on their stocks instead of that overgrown eraser. I fitted a Pacmayr to my 270 and it helped a great deal.

I own that rifle myself stainless /synthetic in 7 mag....had the trigger brought down to 3lbs and its a real shooter. Recoil is not even a factor with this rifle...the last synthetic/stainless I owned was a 300 win mag with the paddle stock and felt recoil was definitely much higher. I installed a Pachmayr prefit pad on it last nite and will take it to the range this weekend.
