" It seems very difficult to impress most reloaders with the fact that every rifle is an individual, and what proves to be a maximum load in one may be quite mild in another, and vice versa." Bob Hagel, GAME LOADS AND PRACTICAL BALLISTICS FOR THE AMERICAN HUNTER, 1977

When I was a kid.........maybe 17yrs old, I was trout fishing one spring day with my best friend from High School. We had just reached the stream and were putting our fishing rods together standing on the shoulder of the road.
Across an open field an Eastern Bluebird fluttered across toward where we were standing.........well my buddy raises his " Shotgun" (which was the back half of his fishing rod with reel attached) and snaps off a shot at the Bluebird. Annoyed that he missed his first shot he " Chambers" another round and fires again with a loud " BANG" !
To this day I don' t know if that bird died from " Power of suggestion" , Fright, or possibly In-flight Old age..........but he folded up and dropped stone dead in the center of the blacktop road, hitting with a little puff of blue feathers.[X(][
]
We stood there with our mouths open for about a full minute.
Wouldn' t have believed it if I didn' t see it with my own two eyes, and he was NOT allowed to point that rod at any of us EVER from that point on.
So when someone else has seen a bigger animal killed with the back half of an ultralight spinning rod.........then we can talk.
