Here is the proper link for the barrel.

http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/s...0273/cat100037

It is a barrel sold by Mossberg for the Remington 870. Don't know if Mossberg is the actual manufacturer or someone else makes them but Mossy sells them in their packaging.

I put one of these on one of my Mossy's years ago. I never used the Bushnell3-9X scope. Put a straight 4X on it and it shoots real good. Following my rec my buddy put on on his 870 and has been happy with it - even with the Bushnell scope. It shoot real well, too.

You have learned one lesson. And that is on tuff like this you always check the bases and rings and ue the appropriate LockTite thread locker.

Another lesson here is that the 1-in-36" rifling in these barrels isn't a good twist rate for the faster slugs. I'll bet if you go with more moderate slugs you will see much better accuracy.

And to be fair to whatever slugs you are trying you have to keep that barrel clean, clean, clean.

Newer 870 Express are known for having rough chambers. Many fix this by honing the chamber.

I can't comment on the quality of the scope, but you do need to focus the scope for your eye. There should be a focus adjustment on the scope. That will take care of the blurry crosshairs.

I'd remount everything with blue Loc-tite.
