Default Home defense

I was just wondering what everybody keeps for home defense? I keep a S&W model 19 "4" 357mag loaded with 145gr Winchester silvertips and a Stevens 67 12ga(cut off at 18.5inches) loaded with 3 inch ooo buck. And in the guncabnet I keep my beretta96 centurion 40 loaded with 180gr gold dots it's only a turn of a key away.

Remington 870 home defense loaded with 7 rounds of 00 buckshot. The buck stops here.

Nothing wrong with keeping the .357 out, it is probably one of the best self defense rounds out there. My wife has my .357 in her nightstand and I have a Glock .40 in mine.

just the right and left microphones....mic check 1....2....haha.

oh there may be some 00 buck, 44mag...

though I have read #4 buck may be better for home defense if you have other family members in the home, ie going through drywall...

That is why you should not use a .44 Mag for two legged threats. A hunting cartridge is not recommended for personal protection against two legged perps. Use .44 Special personal protection ammo for two legged threats.

Glock 23 .40 cal with Winchester supreme elite hollow points. A 12 gauge isnt the best if you in very close quarters.

Yea closer than 20 feet it's like shooting a rifle. I keep mine out for 4 legged threats (wild dogs hogs and that da** coyote that keeps comein in our yard) also best thing for acopperhead. I live in the middle of no-where if you can't tell...

Beside my bed I keep a 12 ga shotgun loaded wtih 2.75" high velocity #5 shot specifically because it will not penetrate miltiple walls and be lethal on the other side but at 20 feet is as lethal as it gets. IMO, any buck shot out of a shotgun inside a home is a recipe for disaster.

I also keep an AR15 loaded with 40 grain Nosler ballistic tips under my bed. Again the 40 grain BT will not penetrate walls and be lethal on the other side but will turn someones chest into mush.

Not for home defense, but my conceal carry weapoon, a S&W 442, is sitting on my night stand next to the shotgun.
