No doubt Benelli is an excellent gun and quality wise the rifled slug gun should be very good. I would look at the scope and make sure it is of as good a quality and if it is not, make them put on a better scope. Often the combo packages have scopes that are not top of the line.

I' m sure its a pretty good gun. All you need to worry about is finding the slug that shoots(groups) the best in it. Try a bunch! Next, you said it has a 1.5 to 5 variable scope on it. Where we hunt that would be terrible! I some terain it would be fine. In our area the best thing by far is a red dot sight (no magnification) This may sound funny to someone used to rifle hunting but when your hunting really thick stuff where seeing 60 or 75 yards is rare, and many of your shots are quickly moving or running. Red dots are good out to around 100 yards and fabulous for drives or moving deer targets.

Good Luck!
