Remington Ultra Core Locked Shotgun Slug?
Does anyone have any experience with this slug? The ballistics are impressive, 150 yard zero capability and supposedly top notch accuracy.
Would love to hear all and any comments on it...

I just ran the 12 guage load through a ballistics calculator... 150 yard zero, 2.5" high at 90 yards and 3" low at 180... Only 5.6" low at 200, and still moving over 1500 fps and packing a 2052 ft# whallop...
Mercy...
I gotta get a box of these to try. If they' re as accurate as they report, and as accurate as the Federal Barnes I' ve used, I found my new slug of choice...

I am going to use that here in MD next year if I can find them. I always thought they made slugs too heavy and you loose alot of hydrostatic shock. So this is a welcome round. And I need that extra 50 yards.

Yeah...the majority of MD is shotgun anyway..would be nice for remington to have break through in slugs like they did with waterfowl and turkey when they made that hevi-shot

I used the 3/4 ounce federal barnes 12 gauge slug last fall, same fps at the muzzle, but not as much down range energy or fps due to the lighter weight, but it is a very accurate slug... It can be sighted in to be very flat out to 130-40 yards or so...
If you can' t find the remington, give these a try. I shoot an H&R ultra slug hunter and my brother uses a Marlin bolt action, these slugs shot very tight from both guns.

Never had much luck with remington sabots,I shoot a Browning A bolt 12 ga. and would highly reccomend trying Lightfield 3 " commander sabots.Very accurate, with a 100yard zero they only drop about 2" at 125yards,so if you had them hitting a little bit higher you could easily shoot 175 yards or better.muzzle velocity is 1800ft/sec and muzzle energy is 3346ft/lb.The problem with high velocity sabots is that they are pushed to fast for the rifling to fully stablize the projectile ie.winchester partion gold sabots.lightfield seens to have found a way around this problem with their impact disguarding sabot.
