I have 'tried the internet" but thanks. Believe me the last thing I'd find in my local gunshop is a .260 anything.

I'm really looking for specific model and brand suggestions, not looking for someone to find me one for sale, though that would be nice.

The only two factory bolt rifles I know of are going to be the Remington model seven and the Ruger compact laminate.

i find it funny that beretta wont import tikkas in 260 to the usa but they will to canada, or at least stoeger canada is still dealing with our products. looking at the wholesale sports catalogue right now i can see that they have the t3 hb stainless in 260 for 1059.99 cad (yes our guns are pricey up here, might be because of a different distributer), and a t3lite blued in 260 for 769.99 cad. i think wholesale sports have a few stores across the border but when checking on their american website i noticed that they dont have them in .260

why play with a rifle that uses a round no one stocks on thier shelfs unless you do all your own handloading..setting yourself up for trouble down the road on a hunt..i have to shake my head at people that does this,,do you think a deer cares about 100 ft per sec
on a round...i care about the differance in the cost of a box of rounds though...but if your heart is set on it go for it ,,,good luck

If the issue is barrel length, that can be fixed by a gunsmith, cut and re-crown.

As we say in Arkansas, "I reckon" you will really shake your head when I say I also like my 6.5 Creedmore and my 257 Weatherby Magnum, and I haven't been disappointed on a hunt yet. 270s and 30-06s are fine rounds, but that would really limit the number of rifles I needed to own.

have E.R.Shaw build you one to your specs for $700 or so...

Unless you object to the real short tube, the Ruger Hawkeye Laminate Compact might fit the bill. Comes in 260
