Default Restocking a Ruger 77

Does anyone know if the stock from a Ruger 77 Compact will fit on a standard 77?
I' m thinking of buying a used 77 dirt cheap from someone but the stock is too long for my son. I was thinking of taking the stock off his Compact instead of cutting down the original stock.

I don' t think they make a special action for that so yes it would fit ...barrel channel may be a bit oversize but it should fit no problems.

If the 77 is a short action it may fit.

Call Ruger at (603)863-3300, They' ll be able to tell you first hand.
It might fit depending on what length action they both have.
