Congrats Chuck! You got arguably one of the best deer cartridges you could get. Id argue it anyways because I have the same gun.. :D Mine will shoot anything I feed it well with the exception of the 150 Speer Hot cors. I have mostly used the 130 gr blue box federals. Same ones Wal mart sells for 13.97. ive got a 3x9x40 Nikon pro Staff on mine with loopy dual dovetail mounts and low rings. Maybe consider a trigger job for it also. Far as bullet weight... the 270 was built for 130 grainers. It does great with other weights also but the 130's are the ticket for the deer you are describing.

I like the 130 grain bullets in my .270 also. Work great on antelope and deer.

QUESTION??

If my rifle is shot in at 100 yds...will the different bullet grain weight make a big difference on the target ; if I shoot every round at 100 yds?
I know it does shooting black powder.

Different results for different guns Chuck. You'd have to shoot them all to make sure. My 150 NP load shots to basically the same POI as my factory 130's. However no 2 guns are gonna shoot the same.

more than likley the point of impact at 100 yards between 130 grain bullets and 150 grain will not change enough to notice, i have shot many 130s out of mine at deer even tho its sighted in for 150 grain, the 130's hit the mark and did the job...either will work at 100 yards

Congrats on a great rifle. I have a 700 BDL in 30-06 and it loves the cheap Remington core-lokts, you don't need fancy bullets to kill a deer.

The 270 Remington 130 grain Core-Lokt bullet is a pretty good performer if they shoot well in your rifle. And they are pretty price effective also. Tough to beat them-especially for the price. No need for anything heavier or a more expensive bullet for deer. Just as long as you can keep it in a 3" to 5" group at 300 yards. Tom.

Congrats on the new toy Chuck.100 yards should not be much difference in any of them just go blast away and find out.I had a .270 in a Savage 110, kicked like a Hillsville mule....LOL.I had just got on the Ballistic tip band wagon .Was loading 130's and did not get very good perfomance from them .But that was because then the BT's were really to explosive at the speeds I was driving them.Went to the 140's and all was well with the world.But as said above the old stand by 130 core-locks will do anything you want if your gun will shoot them like you want. JMHO
