There are a few companies out there still producing full power 10mm Auto ammo...Winchester being the largest...the 175 grain STHP is a hot round...CorBon also produces a lot of power...
Two questions though...
1. What are you planning to use it for (my experience with 1911s in 10mm is that they are a handful...the Glock is a bit more pleasant to shoot)...as a whole, they are no better than the .40 S&W for self-defense (which is pretty good) though the 180 grain HPs have a history of over-penetration...they do make good trail guns / light hunting autos (mostly for mid-sized game like deer)
2. Do you reload...as mentioned, while there are companies making 10mm Auto loads, they can be very rare in certain parts of the country...

I have the Kimber Stainless Target II and paid $750.00 new for it. It is one of my favorite pistols that I have and it's my go to pistol when I am going hiking up in the hills. I handload a 200gr cast bullet at about 1250fps and 200gr xtp @ about 1200fps for it. The cast bullets have great penetration and would be suitable for hunting as well. The XTPs penetrated about as much as the Winchester Silver tip factory loads did. The only reason they didn't do better was because the jackets separated on the 3 rounds I tested while the Silver tips held together.
Glock makes a few different 10mm pistols that you could look into. They make the Model 20, the Model 20SF, the Model 29, and the 29SF I think. I think they also have a compensated version of the 20 as well. The 20SF has a little smaller grip to it so it doesn't feel so bulky in your hand. The one nice thing about the Glock is that it is a little wider to help distribute the recoil a little more and the polymer frame helps absorb the recoil as well. Not that the 10mm is harsh to shoot. I don't find it any worse to shoot as my Ultra CDP II with +p loads.
If you are not a reloader you are going to be limited to some watered down target loads but for a few buck more you can order some good ammo from DoubleTap.com. They offer a good selection of both target, hunting, and self defense ammo.
