Forget all of this inside and outside "X" distance BS. The dead deer isn't going to care one way or the other. It isn't all that technical. Just pick up a box of 150 grain core lokt bullets, sight in your rifle, and assuming that they shoot well for you go to town on the deer.

PSP simply means that the bullet is pointed.
SP simply means that the bullet has a round nose.

Typically the SP is available in heavy for caliber bullets and in 30 caliber that is typically 180 grains and higher. I have never seen a 150 grain round nosed core lokt bullet.

The one on the left is a PSP and the one on the right is a SP. Both are Remington core lokts.

They don't make a round nose .30 150 grain Core-Lokt. 180 is the smallest Core-Lokt SP in .30. So you have to go PSP.

I use the SP for my 30-06 and inside 100 yards it really puts a smack on them.

My father shoots Remington Core Lokt 180 grain PSP bullets in his 30-06. He uses his 30-06 for elk & deer.
