I dont know of any product browning makes, that is not "good", at least from a quality standpoint. Curious though, why are going to a .30 caliber if you feel the 7mm is not needed?

I bought a used A-bolt '06 in a pawn shop. The most accurate and one of the nicest handling rifles I own. (Of course, I haven't shot my Sako yet, either).

I've got an A-Bolt in 25-06 and .300 Win Mag. Both are "tack drivers." 30-06 is a readily available and proven caliber and you should have great luck with it. I can't say enough good stuff about Browning rifles (or shotguns or pistols!).

A-bolts are really good-looking rifles that tend to shoot with any of 'em. Grab one (though 7mmRM suits my fancy ) and enjoy!
