Well if its factory ammo, and not reloads (comercially made reloads I consider factory), then I say go for it. I dont expect you will have any problems at all, though you might not get the accuracy you want, but plinking ammo is just that, plinking.)

I've shot cheap ammo out of lots of guns...and I've never had a problem. As a matter of fact, I like the cheap ammo. It gives me excuses for when I miss!!! (Which happens more often as I age)

The Cabelas ammo is No Problem. I've shot a ton of their .308 rounds with no ill effects (and pretty darn accurate as well).
