300 or 7mm??

I have looked at every gun they make (I think) and have come down to these two calibers... am going after Moose and hopefully Antelope next year. Have always wanted a 300mag. but the 7mm looks real good too!!! Any pros and cons would be helpful!??[:-]

It' s a kinda pick your poison choice. I own a 7mm and love it. It' s a really flat shooting rifle and can be zereod in beyond belief. I' ve never shot a .300 so I can' t really compare the two, but I can say that if you do get the 7mm you won' t be disappointed.

Well the 300 Win Mag will shoot heavier bullets better than the 7mm Rem Mag and the 7mm Rem Mag will shoot lighter bullets than the 300 Win Mag. Both are fine cartridges. Flip a coin.

Given that set of circumstances get the 7mm.
Shoot 140 or 150 for antelope and 175 for the moose.
The 7 has less recoil than the 300.

I prefer the 300 for elk with 200gr partitions.
Everything else I would prefer to use the 7mm (actually I would use a .280 Rem).

Either caliber would work great however, if recoil is not a factor, flip a coin.

Either will work on game from pronghorns to deer,to elk,to moose.I have taken all with the 7mm and 140gr partitions and never had a problem. As of late though I have been using the 300 ultramag for moose and elk.The 7mm mags do have noticeably less recoil than the 300 mags if you are recoil sensitive.

Either or. Those WSM are really looking nice. I rarely see people that are dissatisfied with them. Most of my friends are exceding the speeds in the manuels 2gr below max load.

Flip a coin on the Cartrige. Get which rifle you like.

No animal will ever know the difference. However, your shoulder will so I' d go with the 7mm.
