Default 280 remington

I was looking at some web sites of gun makers and I noticed that there wasnt any guns chambered in the 280 remington, even on the remington site I couldnt find a gun that they even chambered for it. Have they pretty much done away with the 280?

I haven't looked recently but Ruger and Browning would be your best bet for finding a new 280. I haven't heard that either of them have dropped the 280.

I don't think Remington has sold anything in 280 in a number of years.

I'm a big fan of the .280. Browning makes the .280 in all models of the X-bolt. I went to Remington & Ruger websites and only saw the .280 being listed in the 700 custom series of Remington.

Like Stalkingbear, I too am a big fan of the .280 Rem.

I just took a look on Remington's web site, and they offer this caliber in the 700 Mountain LSS and the Alaskan TI.

I used to see 700's in .280 on gunbroker.com quite often, but not sure about today with the crazy things going on in the gun market.

I bought a Ruger Hawkeye all weather in .280 a few months back.I see it's now listed as discontinued.I guess they're just not selling enough. It's certainly not the cartridges fault.IMO the best of all built off the ol'e 06.

Pretty sure Savage is chambering a rifle in .280 stainless, heavy barrel.

I am not trying to hijack this thread. Just wanted to let you 280 shooters know, I listed a new set of 280 dies in the for sale section in the guns section.

I kinda thought that was strange some of the gun companys dropping the 280. I dont own one, but I know its a great caliber.

It is weird. Remington has almost dropped the .280 from its line, and now only offers the .260 in its compact Model 7....I don't believe any of the Model 700 models are available in .260.

If a company won't support its own cartridges, who will in the future?
