Im shopping for a new rifle with a few criteria: (bolt gun)
Wood stock - period
Hinged floor plate or removable mag
safety which allows you to work the action in "safe" mode
If any one can list off rifles which apply I'd appreciate it.
From here it will become an Accuracy/price compromise

Well, to meet your criteria you've actually got a LOT of choices. To name a few (in no particular order):
Remington Model 700 BDL, CDL and CDL SF (to name a few) (http://www.remington.com/products/fi...les/model_700/)
Savage Model 14/114 and 11/111GCNS (http://www.savagearms.com/centerfire_home.htm)
Browning X-Bolt Hunter, Medallion and White Gold Medallion (http://www.browning.com/products/cat...23B&catalog_=B)
Winchester Model 70 Featherweight, Sporter and Super Grade (http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodin...y.asp?cat=001C)
Ruger Model 77 Mk II and Hawkeye (several wood stocked models) (http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FA-Type-RI.html)
I'm sure this isn't a complete list, but it hits the major U.S. gun manufacturers. All of them meet your criteria. Some have two position safeties that allow bolt operation on safe with a bolt release button (Browning X-Bolt) or without (Rem 700). The Savage, Winchester and Ruger rifles all use three position safeties that provide either on-safe/bolt locked and on-safe/unlocked positions.

well I'd have to put a limit on the package at 800 or so but not objecting to any thing used. Meeting this criteria, what is the most accurate rifle out of the box in say the .270 .280 30-06 .308 range? Im talking best accuracy for the money. If a $500 gun is just a hair less accurate than an $800gun, idrather make the compromise for the cheaper one.
Whats the best rifle for your money in this case?
