hey guys which gun would be the better choice between the savage model 11 and the remington 700 sps what in wondering would the remi have all the same features as the savage like free floating barrel and i really dont like the accutrigger so if thats the only difference ill probly like the remi thanx. and i dont think theres much difference in price is there

I have both and prefer the Remington. Just be aware you'll need to do a trigger job on the Remington to get it to shoot as good as the Savage.

the remington trigger is kinda heavy but when lightened up the remmy is good i would go for the remington

I have owned several SPS's. Every single one I have owned had a crappy trigger. Not just SPS's but every single Rem 700 I have owned needed a trigger job. I'm not knocking the Remington 700.Theyare my favorite rifles and the triggers can be cleaned up very crisp and light.I have a Rem 700 300 ultra mag, .270, and .243. The accu trigger can be set to 3lbs via the instructions with the rifle but the over all feel and look of the rifle does not compare to the Remington. JMO

All of my 700 triggers have been lightened,but none needed any other work.

I own an SPS Stainless in .270win. Its a shooter right out of the box. I love this rifle. The above posts are right the overall feel of a Remington rifle is something.

The stock is not the greatest by any means, but i guess a quick $250 or $300 and you could have a great stock on it. I think i looked at a hogue stock for my 700 and it was like 150 or something like that at the time. I know cabelas sells Bell and Carlson stocks for like $250

The trigger is a little stiff from the factory. Im going to have that worked this year.I still am able to shoot 1-1.5" MOA with factory hornady rounds. Every gun I pick up i compare to my 700 and even with $750-1000 price tags on alot of these rifles id still rather be shooting my 700. Its a great gun built on a solid proven action that every gun smith knows.

The SPS is a perfect hunting rifle. Accurate, Light,not too fancy, can bump it off a tree or use it in the rain or snow and not have to worry about it all too much. That is an ideal hunting rifle in my opinion.

I had a Savage model 16but could never could warm up to the accu-trigger, even though the rifle was accurate. I much prefer the feel of the Remington 700....gunsmith charged me $25 to lighten the trigger on my 700 CDL.

ok guys i just got off the phone with the wally world ppl and they say they have a remi 700 adl for 447 and a sps for 530 is that very good prices id go to a dealer but i only have 1 close that i like and hes gone for awhile and i work at a walmart distribution center and get 10 percent off my guns so if there close to the right price i usally go there so whattya think good price or not
