The XL7 in .270 I got to give a buddy for a present is consistantly grouping about 1 1/2" for 5 shots at 100 yards with cheap factory ammo 130 gr. I bent the little tab all the way back and to 1 side for him, thereby eliminating the goofy trigger similiar to accu-trigger. It has an great conventional trigger now and is still 100% safe/reliable. I even bought another to use as beater/loaner rifle and it's just as good. They are the best rifle I've seen in that price range-bettering Stevens 200 and the Mossberg from what I've seen.
