I am in the market for a new rifle.I am considering the 25-06 or 270 possible the 270 wsm.The guns i'm looking at are the Ruger 1 the Remington CDL-SF or the Browning A bolt white gold. Possibly the TC pro hunter,Am favoring the single shots because of barrel length.Just curious
as to info on the Ruger 1 how it shoots and accuracy

Ruger #1's, and single shots in general, can be as accurate as a bolt. But they tend to be picky about the loads they prefer. I've shot a single shot rifle as my primary deer rifle forover30 years, and I've never regretted it. Look at handling, balance, ease of maintenance, personal preference, and even "cool" factor, butI don't know if barrel length would be abig factor in my book. I've never seen a noticable difference in the terminal ballistics as evidenced by deer being any deader than the rest of my deer camp.

I've got a Ruger 1-B in .270. It handles well and shoots better. I do feel it's a tad heavy though. My next one will probably be a 1-A. They can be finicky but if you get a good one you'll love it. The A-Bolts are also great rifles. Good luck with your selection.

thank you bugs&bows I love how they look and feel.Just dont hear much about the accuracy of them. Just curious if you reload? If so do you notice any extra performance from the longer barrel
