I'd have to vote for the 10-22 as my favorite plinker/hunting 22 also. In defense ofthe plinkster mentioned earlier, I don't know of any semi-auto that will reliably fire the 22 shot shells. Just not enough recoil energy generated by those things

In a semi-auto 10-22 no doubt. I have always wanted a lever action for the heck of it though.

another vote for 10/22..........although my dad's got a lever action from western auto when he was a boy (Mossberg made) that is very accurate too

For fun a marlin 39A. I have several .22's from Marlin bolt actions, Ruger 10/22's, and target pistols but the 39A is the most fun to just play with.

Ruger 10/22 is a very good choice.. accurate.. and can get plenty of accessories for it.... picked mine up for around $180..
that being said.. I had an old lever action single shot Ithica 22 along time ago that I loved. and still kick myself in the rear for getting rid of.. wouldnt wast my time with a 22 mag... for plinking anyway as the ammo cost alot more than regular 22 LR.
