For $1500 you can get a great gun and have tons of money left over. I just purchased a 99% post 64 Winchester Model 70 featherweight on gunbroker for $550 with shipping and all FFL fees. All you can say about those guns is they are tack drivers straight from the box. Don't go and purchase a gun for retail your just spending money you don't have too. Just as important as the gun is the scope. My family has always used Leupold Vari X III's. Lifetime warranty no matter if the first owner or not, can't beat that. So my suggestion is do some checking out on gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com. You should easily be able to buy a good featherweight or and older Browning a-bolt for less than $800 (not much of a fan of the new a-bolts) and put a really good scope on it and have $3-400 left over. Just my .02
