Simmons 2-10x44 Whitetail Classic Riflescope
I notice that these are available for $120 from Cabela's. Are they any good? Would this be a good quality sturdy scope for whitetail hunting on for a 700 ADL in 30-06?
Thanks for any advice.

Best scope is a Simmons Aetec. I like it better than my Vari-x II. Its clearer, and brighter. You can get one from Mid South Shooting Supplies for $139.00. Ya'll get whatca want, but that is a heck of a scope for that kind of money. I've always spent big bucks on Leopolds and Nikons but the Aetec matches up with them toe to toe.

I have the Vari X III and the Nikon Monarch and bought an Aetec a few years back and continue buying them. Just as clear even in low light. I see spending the extra $$ on something that I feel is equal in value.

Go with a Leupold. Bass Pro in their flyer I received last week has the Leupold Var XII 3x9x40mm in gloss black finish for 179.99.That's about the cheapest I've seen them going for. Some of my friends have Simmons and had problems with them.Simmons does repair them but that's to much hassle as far as I'm concerned. I have a simmons 3.5-10x40. I really like it. I had my nephew carrying my rifle while I dragged my buck out of the woods last fall, and he tripped and banged my rifle(unloaded) on a log. I resighted and was 6" high at 100 yards. I tried to lower the elevation, but it wouldn't come down. I sent it back to them and they sent me a new one.
