I am wanting opinions on the .223 wssm. I've read a lot of negative articles on this gun and my confidence is shaken with it. I let my wife shoot her first deer with it last year and it was very impressive, making a quick clean kill. If anyone has any experience with this gun I would like positive/negative feedback on it.

First off let me say I have no experience with this round, I am only recounting what I have heard others say.
Its a fine round just wasn't really needed with all the other super fast 22 calibers out there. Its a little hard to find it in stock. The WSSM's really didn't turn out the way Winchester hoped they would and they are now fizzing out. You should buy up all you can or get into reloading.

Thanks for the input. Ballistically the round is awesome and here in MO. 22 calibers are legal for deer. I liked the 22-250 and thought this would be an improvement. I think that loading upon ammo is a great idea, so I appreciate the advice. I guess all the problems people talk about with the round itself are exaggerated. I'm sure there have been bad experiences with every round ever designed.
