Red Dot/Holosight on my slug guns, but 1.5-4.5 on my Muzzleloaders. My preference, primarily due to the way I hunt the different seasons. Group hunt during shotgun, stand hunt during ML.

had 2 red dots, now have 2 scopes, 1st was a 1.5-4.5x scope, then went with a 2-7x due to the new slugs, personally I don't think I'd go for the 3-9x, for me, that 7x would get me away with enough distance, and that 2x for stalking would be nicer than 3x IMO.

Either way though, I'd get a scope hands down, my choice would be a 2-7x, but if you want a 3-9x, thats your call.

I don't see how anyone can answer the poll, without knowing what gun this is for, and what the gun will be used for???

A scope will be better for some things, and a red dot better for others.
