Default new rifle came in!!!

Got my new rifle in yesterday its a H&R 243 i put a bushnell 3-9X40 scope on it and went out and shot it today and in 7 shots had it hitting in the bullseyes and my 8th and 9th shot was touching from 50 yards with factory remington 100 grain sp when my dad gets his 243 i'll shoot it at 100 yards. But over all very impressed with the gun and trigger action people was saying theirs had a stiff trigger mine was just abit touchy to me but still good

Congrats on the new gun. I think the .243 is a great gun and should be happy for a lot of years to come. If you plan on hunting with that gun a lot, go ahead and check into a trigger job or a new trigger, it will make a huge difference. I've never owned a H&R rifle so I can't comment on which would be better, I just know you will be much more happy with a nice trigger.

I don't think you can get after market triggers for the H&R's but you can do trigger jobs on them. H&R will do it for you or I am sure a local gunsmith can handle it it.

How is it with ejecting shells? I heard this used to be an issue with the .243, maybe they fixed it.

I'm used to my Encore so when I broke the action on a bud's H&R and the brass hit me in the forehead at about 50fps I was a little suprised.....guess it makes for a quicker second shot?

First everyone told my that H&R rifles had stiff triggers mine just perfect for me maybe alil touchy but good my dad shot it and liked how the trigger felt and second it don't eject the shells which i like u just pull them out and put another on i don't want to be like hunter and have the brass hit me in the forehead. The only thing i have against the gun its not anything wrong with the gun but it has alot of muzzle jump on it anyway to fix it without a muzzlebrake?
