Does anyone hunt with a 20g mossberg 500 slug gun? If so whats your load and how accurate are you?

I did at one time, and presently my friend does, both of our 500s loved the Lightfields

I have 3 slug guns, one being a rifled 12 gauge 500. I get the best groups with the Lightfield Hybrids 2 3/4inch. I wouldn't think the rate of twist is any different in the barrel from a 20 to a 12?? Is this a rifled barrel your asking for or a smooth bore? A buddy of mine had a smooth bore and his shot Remington Sluggers the best.

With the new slug loads,a 20 gauge is supposed to be as deadly as a 12 gauge. Try all the new sabot loads till ya find 1 that shoots in your gun.

I just bought one last year at the end of the season,I have been trying different slugs and the one that shoots the best out of mine is the winchester Partition Gold 2 3/4 in 260gr 1900 fps.2in high at 50yds shoots about 1in high at 80yds shooting 1 3/4in group.I would like to try out to about 150yds just to see what it would do, have to wait till the bugs die off a bit.

Get a Thermacell and shoot away
