Comfortable Holster For My Kimber 1911
#1
The 45 for bear defense post got me to thinking that I still haven't gotten a holster for my Kimber Pro CDP II 1911.
I'm going to be in the mountains in Montana with a day pack on. I was thinking something like a thigh holster for my 1911. Anyone have any other suggestions or recomendations on a quality, comfortable holster that would be out of the way of my backpack.

A cross-draw will work about the best, it keeps the pistol out of the way of your pack and in a more natural reach than a thigh rig, I would also guess it would depend on your body size also "arm length and belly to get around!"LOL!. I would go to a shop and try them on for fit and function to see what would be best for you.

devil dog - thanks for the reply. My problem is this, my packs (Badlands 2200, and a Blackhawk Black Summit), both have straps that go across the mid chest, and around the waist to put the load on your hips for packing heavy loads. I'm not so sure a regular holster or a cross draw will work.....
