22LR Ammo?

22LR Ammo?
I put about a thousand rounds through my 10/22 a couple of days ago. The last box I shot had 550 rounds of hollow points made by Remington. I couldn't believe how many duds I had out of the 550 rounds of Remington. All the shells that fired and did not fire had the same exact dent in the shell from the firing pin. I really do not think it was the gun, I think it was the ammo. I just wanted to see what you guys think it was!
What is your favorite 22LR ammo that you use?
Thanks Bryan

RE: 22LR Ammo?
In fact, the same ammo thats givin you trouble is the ammo i prefer. I have an old remington 552 semi auto. I will admit, there are some duds in remingtons .22 ammo, but it cycles the best and gives me the most accuracy out of my gun. I don't know what it is with Winchester's though. Winchester .22 ammo always ends up with 2 or 3 shots and then a stovepipe. That is IMO the worst .22 ammo ive ever bought.

RE: 22LR Ammo?
Last Fri. out of 18 kids shooting at practice we had more then 50% duds. They were getting hit very hard and it must be the bullet. One person said that they must have messed up the compound in the brass. I know that we had to make sure that kids held on target for at least 20 seconds because we had a few go off after teh trigger was pulled 5 to 10 seconds.
