Handgun recoil for 44 Mag vs 270 Win?
I'm thinking about getting a TC Encore pistol, probably leaning toward a .41 Mag or .243 Win.
But I was wondering which, and how much more recoil would you get for a .44 Mag vs. a .270 Win, out of an Encore. (130 gr. for the .270 Win) This would be for deer hunting.

I have the contender in the 44 Mag.. It has some punch to it.. You should have seen the look on the faces of the guys at the pistol range when I whipped it out and fired it from about 15 Yds.. When it went off that looked at me like WTH was that? There is a good bit of recoil.. I also have a barrell for a 223 and it is a sweet shooting load.. If your deer hunting the 243 would be a good round to go with in the super 14"

I don't think you can even really compare the two on a recoil level.
I looked up some recoil levels and this is what I found. A 44 mag with a 240 grn bullet will have 11 ft/lbs and 9.8 fps of recoil out of a 7.5 lb rifle. The same load out of a 3 lb pistol is 22 ft/lbs and 22 fps of recoil. That is quite the increase.
The .270 with a 150 grn bullet out of a 8 lb rifle has 17 ft/lbs and 12 fps of recoil. Imagine what that would be like in pistol compared to a 44 mag.
To me a .270 out of a light rifle feels about like a 20 ga does as far as recoil goes. I'm a small guy and I really don't have that much trouble shooting a 44 mag handgun. Now if you think I'm going to shoot a 20 ga shell out of a pistol your nuts. I've seen it done and it didn't look like fun.
I've never shot one of the strikers or remingtons in a centerfire cartridge but I would guess they have some recoil to them.
