I agree!! If I couldn' t get at least 3100 FPS with a 180 grain bullet in a .300 Win. Mag., I' d turn in my loading tools!! I was able to better that figure with a 24" .308 Norma in the ' 60' s using H4831 or N205!! This was with a Springfield action and G.I. barrrel, and Norma cases, which were notoriously soft in those days. Never lost a primer pocket!! This touting of the .300 WSM ( or any of the other short mags) as being " superior" to the regular .300 Win. Mag., (or other " regular" length magnums) is just a bunch or outright lies!!
