Yes they do, but what I' m saying is, even you you can load the 22 hornet to LR velocitys, it isn' t as pratical as just using a 22. Maybe if you only shoot it once a year or for squirrels....
Even if I did reload, and I loaded 22 hornets the LR velocities, I' d have to load 24 hours a day to suit my shooting needs. I shoot 550 rounds of or 22lr' s every time I goto the range... I guess if you don' t shoot alot it' s fine...

$7.69 a box. But what I am saying is to totaly swear off 22LR' s because you can load hornets to them is unpratical. If I where to swear off rimfires and switch to a " riflemans" centerfire, I' d spend $200+ a week cause thats how much I shoot.

I' m not advocating swearing off rimfires so you are arguing with the wrong person. But I would rather have my 22 WMR than a 17 HMR any day of the week. Why, I already have one and I can get ammo for it anywhere. Ammo for the 17 is on backorder here so you can buy all the rifles you want, but it may be months before you can shoot them.

I bought the .17hmr in the NEF when it first came out. I have shot hundreds of rounds through mine by now. It is very accurate and flat shooting and has lived up to its tack driving ability. I have a 3x9x30 scope on mine and sighted it in dead on at 25 yards. I have food plots and the armadillo' s were tearing it up. I have shot armadillo' s at 125 yards with no problem at all. I really love the little gun, but I love all guns. If you' re not a gun nut and you have a .22lr or a .22 mag, then you probably don' t need a .17. It does give more versatility than the .22, but either .22 will get the same job done--only at shorter distances. The damage to small game isn' t bad if you can shoot the gun. I hunt squirrels with mine. Shure, a body shot would be devastating. But with a gun that is dead on at 100 yards, why would you shoot for the body? I have taken the eyeballs out of many of squirrels with mine.

So what If the ammo is in short supply right now. Heck it' s a new gun and round.
Anyway by the time I can fork over the money for the gun I' m gonna get it in ammo shouldn' t be a problem.

I wont bother arguing anymore with you, because your thinking is obviously bias. How can you call the 17 HMR a souped up pellet gun? As someone else pointed out then so would the 22 Mag by your chain of thinking. So would the 223.

eldeguello if i am not mistaken doesnt bother with the 22lr because he can get better accuracy and if i get his drift he is interested in a small number of highly accurate shots and not the mass plinking you are. nothing against mass plinking i do it my self frequently. but while it may not be practical for you to swear off the rimfires it is practical for him to do do. and as a pstol sompetitor i can tell you that decenlty accurate 22 ammo is expensive. and yes im talking about match ammo.
we all have different needs and so we all have different guns and different things we like to do.
