Hello everyone,
I'm a newb and I was just wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark value on a Remington 788 LH in .308? Mechanically it's excellent, the wood has a few scratches and there is a tad bit of surface rust that I have to clean off by one of the scope mounts. It looks like it was shot very little and spent most of it's years in a closet.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

you can google it up,just type inremington model 788 lh value and you should be able to find something, you might try gun broker .com and see if they have any on there, these are great guns I have the right handed model 788 in 308 and it's a good deer rifle is that a older scope on those weaver mounts.a lot of these guns were made in the 60's and still hold good value today.you can find the manufacture date by using the serial # and google mine is a 1969 model and in very fine shape. It is not scratched or rusted,I bought it off of an old man that said he was going to quit hunting for $200 I think I got a deal, the leupold scope wasn't on it.

Book value on your gun @ 100% is $450 plus 10 percent for being a lefty action. Sounds like it is more along the lines of 90% and it books there for $325 plus 10 percent. Scope not included. Hope this helps..... Dan
