marlin 60
What is the best ammo for the marlin model 60 for use of:
general plinking?
squirrel and rabbit?
coons, and bigger aniamls?
http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0024232215208a.shtml
is this ammo powerful enough for yotes in an autoloader?
also what do i need to do before i shoot the gun right out of the box?

22Lr American Eagle 40 Grain Well 40 Grains will kill yotes but with 30 and 32's Tough luck but i would mount a Nice Bushnell Or Leupold Scope on it get where ever you bought it from to bore sight it and there you go prolley kill a yote at about 100 yards

Nobody can tell you what's the best ammo because your rifle will "like" 1 kind of ammo over most of the rest. You will have to try several different types/kinds of ammo to see which it prefers. That being said, for high velocity I've found cci mini mag hp to be usually most consistant while I always use subsonic for hunting squirrel.

Most ammo I have shot through my Model 60 has done pretty good far as accuracy wise, I normally use CCI stinger Hollow points for my .22 on squirrels and rabbits it does a good job.
I usually just buy my ammo at wal-mart, usually pretty cheap and for plinking and just playing you can get the boxes of 500-550 for about 12 bucks, I don't use it to hunt with but it does fine on small critters. Just about any Hollow point from a .22 will take a squirrel or rabbit.
I don't think I would try to shoot a coyote with a .22 but if I was I would get some of the higher FPS 40gr rounds you can find.

I tried the velocitors or whatever they are called by CCI and they worked really well for me in my gun. Not much drop and I got pretty good groups at 100 yards off from the bench.
I wouldn't use a .22 for coyote either, but to each his own.

Some semi-autos misfeed without a good powerful round to kick the action back. Cheap ammo will misfeed. I use CCI in all my guns. Stingers in my 10/22. Read the reviews you posted from cabelas on the ammo in question. Sounds like they misfeed. Get what you pay for.
