Personally,I would go with the .308. Being X -military

.If I was going to go with a 30-06 based cartridge it would be 25-06.

Whats the difference between the two? Is the recoil in the 270 a big difference than the 308? Also, which one is a good choice for shooting accurate up to 300yds?

The calibre is very close, but whichever one you go with, I would go with the Browning A-bolt, stainless, great gun.

I believe the recoil for both would be relatively the same, any differences would mainly come from how the gun is built, not the cartridge it fires.
