.I was in the local gun shop,and i think i seen what i want to be my lifetime rifle for hunting whitetail deer in wva,only the gun is a Browning Bar safari gade 308 caliber,withe sights and some of the prety,s wood i have ever saw on a rifle,this gun is mint,just the bare gun they want $625..plus tax they may come down a little but not much i doubt,is it worth it or is this to high price,what do you think...thanks...

...good caliber choice..the 308 is very hard to beat for ANY size deer (well, maybe not moose and elk).... I have only shot one BAR, and it was in 338 Win Mag.... it was VERY comfortable to shoot..I imagine in 308 it would have almost no recoil...that is a good thing. I personally think that 625 is a little steep, for a used Browning...no matter how good it looks, it is still USED..that's what I'd tell the sales person, anyway... I'd try to get them down to 500-550, but, bottom line, if it's the rifle you want, go for it. The price is not outrageous, just upper limit, in my opinion. There is a lot of merit in having the exact rifle you want... everything just works better, you shoot better, you enjoy it more... that in itself is worth paying a little extra for, if you can afford to.
