Default Anybody shot the Taurus 24/7?

I'm looking at getting a Taurus 24/7 in .40 S&W for home protection and also carry possible, looking at the compact model. I like the fact it has a high capacity mag and also reverts to double action if a round fails to fire allowing you to drop the firing pin on that round a second time and hopefully it goes.

I don't have a big budget so I can't spring for a kimber or glock, althought I wish I could afford a nicer gun funds just don't allow it.

I would also be carrying it when I go hunting in the fall for deer as a side arm, most dangerous thing I have to worry about where I hunt are black bears and I hardly see them around.

It will do you fine. If you want look for a used one and save the rest of the money and someday get yourself a "nice" handgun. Although the taurus is plenty nice for me. Also i wouldnt bother with the glock. When you get to the nitty gritty they arent built all that well. The rail system is poor in my opinion and they do not offer much internal support for a polymer pistol.

I think I probably will try and find a used hand-gun, my father in law told me to let him know when i'm ready to buy and he'll ask around for me also and we've got a few gun shops around I can go by.

I've got the 24/7 in .45 acp and I like it. I bought itas a home defense handgun since the only other pistol I own is a .22.
